Río Lagartos is a town in the state of Yucatán, Mexico. The town lies 42 kilometres north of Tizimín. Mérida is approximately 230 kilometres further west.
Only 12 km separate the port of San Felipe from Río Lagartos, from where you can take a tour that will leave a great memory and put you in direct contact with nature.

The more than 80 km extension of the estuary crosses three of the municipalities of the region: San Felipe, Río Lagartos and part of Tizimín, it was declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1979, in order to preserve the ecosystem, as well as more than the 250 species that live there.
